Helix
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005168
A three-dimensional conformation of a polymer chain characterized by a spiral or screw-like arrangement of its repeating units. This structure is defined by a constant pitch and radius, and can be right-handed or left-handed. Helices are common in biopolymers and some synthetic polymers, contributing to their specific functions.
