Multiple helix

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007656

A macromolecular structure where two or more polymer chains are intertwined around a common axis, forming a helical arrangement. This type of structure is common in biopolymers like DNA (double helix) and certain synthetic polymers. The multiple chains are typically held together by hydrogen bonding or other non-covalent interactions, contributing to structural stability.
