Multiple headspace extraction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007655
A technique where the headspace above a sample is repeatedly extracted and analyzed, typically by gas chromatography, until the analyte concentration in the headspace approaches zero. This iterative process allows for the quantitative determination of volatile compounds by summing the amounts extracted in each step. It provides a more accurate measure of the total analyte concentration compared to a single headspace extraction.
