Thin-layer headspace analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012004
A dynamic headspace technique in which a flowing sample solution spreads as a thin film over a heated tube while gas sweeps through, carrying volatile compounds out continuously as they leave the film. The large film area speeds transfer from liquid to gas, so analytes are removed without waiting for static equilibrium. It was developed mainly for volatile organic halogen compounds in water.
