Thin film
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011999
A layer of material with a thickness ranging from a fraction of a nanometer to several micrometers, deposited onto a substrate. These films exhibit properties that can differ significantly from those of the bulk material due to their reduced dimensionality and surface effects. They are widely used in optics, electronics, and protective coatings.
