Thin-film
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005963
Relating to a layer of material with a thickness ranging from fractions of a nanometer to several micrometers. These layers are deposited onto a substrate to modify its electrical, optical, or mechanical properties. Applications include anti-reflection coatings on lenses, conductive layers in liquid crystal displays (LCDs), and the active layers in thin-film solar cells and transistors.
