Characteristic length
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001881
A representative length scale used to describe the dimensions or extent of a physical system or phenomenon. It is often employed in dimensionless analysis to normalize spatial variables. For example, in fluid dynamics, the characteristic length might be the diameter of a pipe or the length of a plate.
