Absorption length

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000079

The characteristic distance over which the intensity of incident radiation or particles decreases by a factor of 1/e (approximately 37%) as it penetrates a material. This parameter is inversely proportional to the absorption coefficient. It is typically measured in units of length, such as nanometers or micrometers.
