Molar Napierian absorption coefficient

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007471

A measure of the intrinsic ability of a substance to absorb light at a specific wavelength, based on the natural logarithm of the ratio of incident to transmitted light intensity. This coefficient is normalized by the molar concentration and the optical path length. It is expressed in m² mol⁻¹.
