Effective plate height
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003590
A measure of chromatographic column efficiency calculated for a retained analyte, representing the column length that corresponds to one effective theoretical plate. It is calculated by dividing the column length by the effective plate number. The effective plate height is expressed in units of length, such as millimeters or micrometers, with smaller values indicating less band broadening.
