Reduced plate height

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010047

A dimensionless measure of chromatographic column efficiency, calculated by dividing the plate height by the particle diameter of the stationary phase. It allows for comparison of column performance independently of the specific column dimensions. A lower reduced plate height indicates higher efficiency, typically with values around 2-3 for well-packed columns.
