Effective plate number
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003591
A measure of the efficiency of a chromatographic column, calculated from the adjusted retention time and the peak width. It represents the number of theoretical plates that contribute to the separation of an analyte, excluding the dead volume. This value is used to compare the performance of different chromatographic systems.
