Asymptotic threshold concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000871
The concentration of a chemical at which a given percentage of the test organisms stay in approximate homeostasis for a prolonged time, 48 hours or longer. It appears as the concentration where the toxicity curve flattens to run roughly parallel to the time axis, so extending exposure brings no measurable extra effect. The asymptotic LC50 is the concentration whose lethal effect on half the organisms no longer grows with exposure time.
