Asymmetry potential

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000870

The potential difference that develops across a glass electrode when identical solutions are present on both sides of the glass membrane. This potential arises from inherent differences in the glass surface properties or strains within the membrane. It is a factor that must be accounted for in precise pH measurements.
