Lethal concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006523
The concentration of a substance in an environmental medium, such as air or water, that causes death in a specified percentage of a test population. This measure is used in toxicology to assess the acute toxicity of chemicals to organisms. The median lethal concentration (LC50) is the concentration causing death in 50% of the exposed population.
