Lethal dose
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006524
The amount of a substance administered to an organism that causes death to a specified percentage of a test population within a defined period. It is typically expressed as LD50, which is the dose lethal to 50% of the exposed population. This value is a standard measure of acute toxicity for chemicals and drugs.
