Median lethal dose
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007126
The statistically derived single dose of a substance that can be expected to cause death in 50% of the animals tested by a given route of exposure. This value is a standard measure of acute toxicity for a substance. It is expressed in units of mass of substance per unit of body weight, such as milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg).
