Human exposure threshold

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005419

A generic exposure value for a substance, or for a group of substances in a defined structural class, below which no appreciable risk to human health is expected. It is derived from toxicity data on many chemicals rather than on one compound, as in the threshold of toxicological concern approach, and it is applied when data on the specific substance are lacking.
