Predicted no-effect concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009367
A concentration of a substance below which adverse effects on an ecosystem or specific organisms are not expected to occur. This value is derived from toxicity data, often by applying assessment factors to the lowest observed effect concentration or no observed effect concentration from laboratory studies. PNEC is a key parameter in environmental risk assessments for chemical substances.
