Predicted environmental concentration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009366

A calculated value representing the expected concentration of a chemical substance in a specific environmental compartment, such as water, soil, or air. This estimation is derived from mathematical models that consider factors like release rates, degradation, and distribution within the environment. PEC values are compared with predicted no-effect concentrations to assess potential ecological risks.
