Expected environmental concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004223
A predicted concentration of a chemical substance in a specific environmental compartment, such as water, soil, or air, based on release rates, degradation, and transport models. This value is used in environmental risk assessments to estimate potential exposure of organisms to the substance. It is often compared to predicted no-effect concentrations.
