Lowest observed adverse effect level
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006789
The lowest dose or concentration of a substance in a toxicity study that causes a statistically significant and biologically adverse effect in the exposed population compared to a control group. This level is used in risk assessment to establish a point of departure for setting exposure limits. It is often abbreviated as LOAEL.
