No-observed-effect concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008062
The highest concentration of a substance in an environmental medium (e.g., water, soil) at which no statistically significant adverse effects are observed in a test population compared to a control group. This value is derived from ecotoxicological studies and is used to assess the environmental risk of chemicals. It is often abbreviated as NOEC.
