Lowest-observed-effect concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006791
The lowest concentration of a substance in an environmental medium (e.g., water, air, soil) that produces a statistically significant and biologically relevant effect in a test organism or population. This metric is commonly used in ecotoxicology to assess the impact of pollutants on ecosystems. It serves as a benchmark for environmental risk assessment.
