Threshold-effect concentration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012034

The lowest concentration of a substance at which a statistically significant adverse effect is observed in a test organism or population under defined experimental conditions. This value is used in ecotoxicology to assess the potential harm of pollutants to ecosystems. It is often determined through dose-response studies and is related to the no-observed-effect concentration (NOEC).
