Non-vertical energy transfer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008061
An energy transfer process with a small Franck-Condon factor, because the donor or the acceptor has an excited-state equilibrium geometry strongly displaced from its ground-state geometry. The transfer therefore requires nuclear rearrangement and is slower than vertical transfer, in which both partners keep nearly the same geometry in the two states.
