Discomfort threshold
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003278
The minimum concentration of an airborne substance that causes a sensation of discomfort in a specified percentage of the human population exposed to it. This sensory response can include irritation of the eyes, nose, or throat, but does not involve irreversible or serious health effects. The threshold is a subjective measure that varies among individuals and is distinct from the odor threshold or levels associated with toxicity.
