Individual perception threshold

The minimum concentration of a specific chemical substance in the environment that an individual can detect through their senses, such as smell or taste. This threshold varies significantly among individuals due to genetic factors, age, and exposure history. It is a subjective measure, distinct from objective analytical detection limits.
