Energy threshold

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003931

The minimum amount of energy required for a particular physical or chemical process to occur. For nuclear reactions or particle detection, it represents the lowest kinetic energy an incident particle must possess to initiate a reaction or be registered by a detector. This value is specific to each reaction or detection system.
