Threshold limit value-short-term exposure limit

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012029

A 15-minute time-weighted average exposure that should not be exceeded at any time during a workday, even if the 8-hour time-weighted average is within the threshold limit value (TLV). This limit is designed to protect workers from acute effects such as irritation, chronic or irreversible tissue damage, or narcosis. Exposures above the TLV-TWA up to the STEL should not occur more than four times per day.
