Threshold limit value-ceiling

The concentration of an airborne substance that should not be exceeded at any point during a workday, even instantaneously. This type of threshold limit value (TLV) is applied to substances that can cause immediate adverse effects upon short-term exposure. It represents an absolute maximum exposure limit, unlike time-weighted averages.
