Ceiling value

A maximum concentration of a chemical substance in the workplace air that should not be exceeded at any time during a working day. This value is established to prevent immediate or short-term adverse health effects from exposure. It is typically expressed in parts per million (ppm) or milligrams per cubic meter (mg/m³).
