Polyamine
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009101
A polymer whose backbone contains amino groups as linkages, in which a nitrogen atom bearing hydrogen, alkyl or aryl is joined to carbon atoms on both sides. Polyethylenimine, made by ring-opening polymerization of aziridine, is a common example. A polymer with amino groups only on pendant side chains is excluded, and a polyamine differs from a polyamide, in which the nitrogen is bonded to a carbonyl group.
