Azomethines
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001055
A class of organic compounds containing a carbon-nitrogen double bond (C=N) where the nitrogen atom is bonded to an alkyl or aryl group, but not to hydrogen. These compounds are also known as imines or Schiff bases. They are typically formed by the condensation reaction of an aldehyde or ketone with a primary amine.
