Aminals
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012860
Organic compounds formed from the reaction of an aldehyde or ketone with two molecules of a primary or secondary amine. They contain two nitrogen atoms bonded to the same carbon atom. Unlike hemiaminals, which have one amino and one hydroxyl group on the same carbon, aminals are generally more stable and do not readily revert to the starting materials.
