Amidrazones

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012859

A class of organic compounds characterized by the general structure R-C(=NR')-NH-NR''R''', where R, R', R'', and R''' are organic substituents or hydrogen atoms. They are derivatives of carboxylic acids in which the carbonyl oxygen is replaced by an imine group and the hydroxyl group is replaced by a hydrazine group. These compounds exhibit tautomerism and can act as nucleophiles or electrophiles.
