Hydrazidines
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005450
Compounds of the type RC(NHNH2)=NNH2, formed formally when a carboxylic acid has its OH group exchanged for NHNH2 and its carbonyl oxygen exchanged for =NNH2, so each carries two hydrazine-derived units on one carbon. They are named systematically as hydrazide hydrazones, as in hexanohydrazide hydrazone. They differ from amidrazones, which carry one hydrazine unit and one ordinary amino group.
