Hydrazonic acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005454
Derivatives of an oxoacid in which a doubly bonded oxygen is exchanged for the group =NNR2 while the hydroxyl is kept, such as carbohydrazonic acids, RC(OH)=NNH2. They are the iminol tautomers of hydrazides, RC(=O)NHNH2, differing only in the position of one hydrogen, and the hydrazide form is far more stable, so hydrazonic acids are rarely isolated.
