Hydroximic acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005497
Organic compounds containing the functional group R-C(=N-OH)-OH, where R is an organic radical. These are tautomers of hydroxamic acids, featuring a carbon-nitrogen double bond and a hydroxyl group attached to the carbon. They are less common than hydroxamic acids but can exist in equilibrium with them, particularly in solution.
