Imidic acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005602
Tautomeric forms of amides, characterized by a hydroxyl group attached to a carbon atom that is double-bonded to a nitrogen atom (a C(=N)OH functional group). They are also known as imidic alcohols or, less precisely, imino acids. These compounds exist in equilibrium with their more stable amide tautomers, with the equilibrium almost always favoring the amide form.
