Amide oximes

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000484

A class of organic compounds characterized by the presence of both an amide functional group and an oxime functional group. Structurally, they contain a carbon-nitrogen double bond (C=N) where the nitrogen is bonded to a hydroxyl group, and the carbon is also bonded to a nitrogen atom of an amide. These compounds are often synthesized from nitriles and hydroxylamine.
