Amic acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000483
A class of organic compounds containing both a carboxylic acid group and an amide group within the same molecule. They are formally derived from the reaction of an anhydride with an amine, where one of the anhydride carbonyls reacts to form an amide linkage while the other remains as a carboxylic acid. These compounds are intermediates in the synthesis of imides.
