Arsinous acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012890
Organoarsenic(III) compounds of the type R2AsOH, with H2AsOH as parent, in which arsenic carries two hydrocarbyl groups and a hydroxyl group. They are formally derived from arsenous acid, As(OH)3, by replacing two hydroxyl groups with hydrocarbyl groups. They are rarely isolated because they condense to anhydrides (R2As)2O, as in cacodyl oxide, the anhydride of dimethylarsinous acid.
