Hydrocarbyl groups

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013161

Univalent groups composed solely of carbon and hydrogen atoms, derived from hydrocarbons by the removal of one hydrogen atom. These groups can be alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl, or aralkyl, and they are fundamental building blocks in organic chemistry. Examples include methyl, ethyl, and phenyl groups.
