Heteroaryl groups
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013151
Univalent groups derived from heteroarenes by the formal removal of a hydrogen atom from any position on the aromatic ring. These groups are the heterocyclic analogues of aryl groups and are named by replacing the '-e' ending of the parent heteroarene with '-yl'. Examples include furyl (from furan) and imidazolyl (from imidazole).
