Heteroarenes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005229
Aromatic heterocyclic compounds that contain at least one heteroatom (e.g., nitrogen, oxygen, sulfur) within their ring structure, exhibiting aromatic stability. These compounds are analogous to carbocyclic arenes but possess different electronic properties due to the presence of heteroatoms. Pyridine and furan are common examples of heteroarenes.
