Polybenzoxazole
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009112
A polymer whose constitutional repeating units contain a benzoxazole ring system as part of the main chain. The benzoxazole moiety consists of a benzene ring fused to an oxazole ring, forming a rigid, aromatic heterocyclic structure. These materials are classified as high-performance polymers, exhibiting exceptional thermal stability with decomposition temperatures often exceeding 500 °C and high mechanical strength.
