Arsonous acids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012891
Organoarsenic(III) compounds of the type RAs(OH)2, formally derived from arsenous acid, As(OH)3, by replacing one hydroxyl group with a hydrocarbyl group, with HAs(OH)2 as parent. In practice they are usually met as their anhydrides RAs=O, such as phenylarsine oxide, which take up water in aqueous solution to give the acid.
