Arsonium compounds

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000798

Organic compounds characterized by a positively charged arsenic atom, As+, bonded to four organic groups. These compounds are quaternary arsonium salts, forming a tetrahedral geometry around the central arsenic atom. They are analogous to quaternary ammonium compounds and often exist as stable salts with a counter anion.
