Stibonium compounds

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011411

Organic compounds containing a pentavalent antimony atom, Sb, bonded to four organic groups and carrying a positive charge. These compounds are analogous to ammonium or phosphonium salts, where the central atom is antimony instead of nitrogen or phosphorus. A common counterion is a halide, such as chloride or bromide.
